Ping terms

Effective November 3, 2026

Ping is an AI service in iMessage that introduces you to people to do things with in San Francisco: friends, groups and dates. By tapping "I agree" you accept these terms.

Who can use Ping

You must be 18 or older. Some plans (most bars) are 21+, set by the host. One account per phone number.

Ping is an AI

Messages from Ping are written by software. The Ping team may review conversations to keep people safe, fix problems and improve the service.

Meeting people

Ping does not run background or identity checks. People's names, ages and descriptions are what they tell Ping. Meet in public when you can, tell a friend where you're going, and text "help" to Ping if something feels wrong (for emergencies, call 911). Hosts may approve or remove guests from their plans. People you're matched with will see your first name, age, the line you wrote about yourself and your photo. Your phone number is shared only when you and another person both choose to stay in touch.

Your conduct

No harassment, threats, hate, sexual content sent to anyone who didn't ask for it, commercial solicitation, or illegal activity. Ping may pause or remove anyone, and removes people from plans at once when they're reported while it reviews.

Covers

A host may ask guests for a cover (up to $50), shown in the invite before you say yes. Covers are paid through Stripe and go to the host after the plan happens. A cover is refunded if the plan is called off or if the plan filled while you were paying; it is not refunded if you cancel or don't show up. Ping charges no fee.

Texts

Ping texts you about plans and people. Text STOP at any time and you won't hear from Ping again unless you text it. Message and data rates may apply.

Liability

Ping introduces people; it doesn't supervise plans, venues or homes. You are responsible for your own safety and conduct.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, Ping will tell you in iMessage.
